CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: Come, let us look! Let us behold the beauty of the Lord.
People: Come, let us hear! Let us learn of the wonders he has done.
Leader: Day and night creation resounds, creation cries out, creation sings and proclaims the glory of the Lord.
People: And as we gather, may we, with humble hearts and open minds, assume our proper place of praise;
Leader: Let our voices be caught up together with the cries of creation,
People: To proclaim the glory, and beauty, and majesty of the Lord.
Leader: For he is glorious.
People: For he is beautiful
Leader: And he is majestic.
People: Amen.

All: Like an animal thirsting for water,

One: Like a crying child yearning to be held,
All: We come to worship.
One: Like an unemployed worker waiting for a call,
All: Like a beggar asking for bread,

WE TALK TO GOD THROUGH PRAYER

      PRAISES, JOYS AND CONCERNS

      PASTORAL PRAYER AND LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth,
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Focus on Black History

Present-Day Christian Leaders

These black leaders are shaping the face of Christianity in America. They are authors, pastors, speakers, rappers, and leaders who engage in discussions of multi-ethnic churches, race, urban culture, family — always in light of the gospel.

So, in honor of Black History Month, here are a few black Christian leaders you should know.
