* GATHERING SONG     "We Bring the Sacrifice of Praise"       TFWS# 2031

*CALL TO WORSHIP .
Leader: Keep loving each other like family. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers
People: for by doing that, we might have entertained angels without knowing it.
Leader: If we speak in tongues of human beings and of divine angels but we don’t have love,
People: we’re clanging gongs and clashing cymbals. Let love continue.
Leader: If we give away everything that we have and hand over ourselves to feel good about what we’ve done but don’t have love,
People: we receive no benefit whatsoever. Let love continue.
Leader: If we sing to God and speak for justice, but don’t seek mercy or have love,
People: our words are vain—our mouths useless. Let love continue.
Leader: If we open our doors to bring people in, but don’t seek to reach out to a hurting world in love,
People: our hospitality is empty. Let love continue.
Leader: Glory to God, who is present in every stranger among us, and who works in our lives every day.
All: Glory to the one who is love, and whose love is in us. Let love continue.

*HYMN OF PRAISE “Open My Eyes, That I May See” #454

*INVOCATION (Unison)
Blessed God, we pray for our time together today.
May our worship honor you.
May our songs and prayers capture something
of your greatness
and convey a portion of our gratitude.
May the teaching of your word be full of truth,
seasoned with grace and timely for all who hear.
And let us respond, Lord,
by loving and serving you
with all our heart, our mind, our soul and our strength.
For you alone are worthy of such things.
Give us eyes to see
and ears to hear all you have for us today. Amen.

WE TALK TO GOD THROUGH PRAYER

Praises, Joys and Concerns

Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth,
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
